Will the transfer courses appear on my EIU Transcript?

The courses will not be listed on your transcript. Only the name of the institution you attended and the hours accepted in transfer will appear.

Will the grades I earned in my transfer courses be included in my EIU grade point average?

Eastern accepts only the hours for courses in transfer. Only grades earned at Eastern are included in the Eastern grade point average.

Why is the "constitution requirement met" field not updated on all my evaluations?

The "constitution requirement met" field is updated on the transfer evaluation of the college where you actually fulfilled the requirement. If you attend a different college and the constitution requirement is not met at that college, it will not be updated on that transfer evaluation.

Why was my Associates in Applied Science degree that I earned from an Illinois Community College not noted on my transfer evaluation?

Per the compact agreement with Illinois community colleges, only an Associate in Art, an Associate in Science or an Associate in Arts and Sciences will be recognized at Eastern Illinois University.

Why was the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science or Associate in Arts and Sciences that I earned from an out-of-state community college not accepted in transfer?

The Illinois Community College Compact guarantees acceptance of degrees earned only at Illinois commuity colleges. Course work from out of state colleges may be accepted on a course-by-course basis from any regionally accredited institution.

Why are the "in progress" hours listed on my evaluation different than the number of hours in which I actually enrolled at my transfer institution?

Some transfer institutions do not enter the number of credit hours for the course(s) in progress. Once we receve your transcript with the grades and credit hours posted for the "in progress" courses, your transfer evaluation will be updated to reflect the correct number of hours.

Why was my foreign language requirement not marked complete on my transfer evaluation?

The "Foreign Language Met" field is only updated if we have an official high school transcript on file showing that you have completed at least two years in a single foreign language in high school with an average grade of "C" or better for the two years.

I completed the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI). Why was my constitution requirement not met?

The Illinois Articulation Initiative does not guarantee completion of the constitution requirement. To meet this requirement, you must have done one of the following:

  1. Earned an Associate in Arts, an Associate in Science or an Associate in Arts and Sciences degree from an Illinois Community College.
  2. Completed PLS 1153 or HIS 3600 either in transfer or at EIU

I turned in a copy of my DD214 when I applied to EIU. Why didn't I receive credit for my miltary service?

DD214s are not evaluated for military service credit unless you request us to do so.

I took a course at a community college that equates to an upper division course at EIU. In the comment line why does it say "cannot use for upper division credit"?

All courses at community colleges are considered lower division course work (1000-2000 level). Therefore, you cannot use the course for upper division credit even though it may equate to an upper division course at EIU. However, credit will be granted for the course.
