2008-2009 Performance Schedule
As the most accomplished of our four concert bands (including the Concert Band, Collegiate Band and University Band), the EIU Wind Symphony is the “flagship” of the band program at Eastern, consisting of approximately 45 of our finest brass, woodwind and percussion performers by audition. This ensemble performs significant literature for winds that is drawn from the major masterworks of the repertoire for the modern Wind Band, including chamber literature. The Wind Symphony is also actively involved in the commissioning of new works for wind band as well as exploring new approaches to programming/performing.
