Academic Scholarships

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is offering a new scholarship opportunity for the first time this year; the Nancy P. Taitt Mathematics Scholarship.  This scholarship is available for junior/senior elementary education majors with a mathematics concentration.  Must be a full-time student in good standing.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Eastern Illinois University will have the following awards available for freshmen who will enter the university in Fall 2008.

1. Jessie Allhands Mathematics Scholarship, renewable for four (4) years.
2. E.H. Taylor Mathematics Four-Year Scholarship, renewable for four (4) years.
3. The Cyril D. Reed Mathematics Scholarship, a one year award.
4. Eastern Illinois University Mathematics Alumni Scholarships, one year awards.

1. one scholarship available for juniors enrolled or enrolling in mathematics at the university
• E.H. Taylor, two year award in mathematics
2. two scholarships for current EIU students
• Stephen Alan Coon Mathematics Scholarship, one year award for current sophomores
• John George Wozencraft, Jr. Memorial Award, one year award offered every other year -- next award will be awarded fall 2009, applications accepted spring 2009
3. Nancy P. Taitt Mathematics Scholarship, one year award available for junior/senior elementary education majors with a mathematics concentration.  Must be a full-time student in good standing.
