Title: The Tangent Semicone and Limits of Tangent Spaces to Real Surfaces

Abstract: We investigate the tangent semicone to a surface and the corresponding Nash space.
The Nash space has applications to the theory of topological
equisingularities of real varieties. It should also play an important role in computer visual
representations of surfaces with singularities. Existing techniques generally fail miserably near singularities,
even when the surface is parameterized.
