Title: The Illumination Problem
OM 215
ABSTRACT: A search light is a right angle in the plane. Four search lights are situated at four arbitrary points in the plane. Is it always possible to turn the search lights about their vertices so that the whole plane will be illuminated entirely?. Some generalizations of this problem will be considered at the colloquium talk. Students are encouraged to attend.
