In the late 1980's, it was discovered that fractals could be used to get very rough approximations of pictures. In recent years, it has been discovered that high resolution pictures can be approximated very acurately by a fractal and that less memory is required to save the picture as a fractal. The talk will address how this is accomplished. No background is required.
