Tuition waiver
Associate Resident Directors (ARD's) receive a tuition waiver for graduate classes, and prerequisite undergraduate classes required for the staff member's Masters Degree. Tuition waivers are also granted during the summer sessions. Staff members are financially responsible for student fees billed by the university.
Monthly stipend
ARD's receive a monthly stipend of $900.00 - $950.00 a month.
Skill development & optional summer employment
Staff members are provided a diverse professional opportunities including:
- Teaching academic classes.
- Advising student groups such as Hall Council, RHA, NRHH, IFC, NPHC, PHC and other student organizations.
- Committee work in areas of multiculturalism, employee relations, staff training, and recruitment.
- Comprehensive bi-weekly in-service training and development.
- Optional summer employment with University Housing & Dining Service's Conference Services Program - Eastern's summer camps and conferences program serving over 14,000 guests each summer.
Private office
Furnished offices include private phone line, desktop computer and internet access.
Room & Board
Professional staff members are provided with an apartment/suite and a board plan (i.e. meal plan) during the duration of their employment.
Furnished Apartment
All apartments/suites are fully furnished and include some basic appliances. Suite style living consists of a furnished living room and two bedrooms and private bath on a residential floor. Please let us know if you require special living accommodations.
Basic & Extended Utilities
Staff members are provided all basic utilities (e.g. water, local telephone, cable, Ethernet, gas, electricity and trash removal) free of charge.
Panther Dining Meal Plan
Staff members are provided with 15 meals per week in the residential dining centers and $140 Dining Dollars per semester (good in all four residential dining centers, Marketplace Convenience Centers, University Food Court, Java B & B Coffee Shop, and the Panther Pantry). |
