Message From the Chair

It is our intention to make our website as informative and helpful to you as we can. We hope that is captures or at least describes the outstanding qualities that our department exhibits "in person." I believe that we exemplify EIU's slogan "big enough to matter, small enough to care." With over twenty faculty and around two hundred and fifty majors in all programs, we can offer both variety in our curriculum and one-on-one faculty-student interactions. Our faculty are among the finest scholars and teachers in the country. Our programs are student-centered. Come to EIU's History department expecting the best…you will find it.
