Exhibit Installation

Developing an exhibit entails a great amount of involvement including everything from conceptualization to design development and artifact selection. But this is only half of the exhibit process. The next step is installation. This year Historical Administration (HA) students created and installed an exhibit for the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site. Between February 12th and February 16th, HA students were excused from classes in order to work daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (and sometimes later) at the site. Much of the construction was done at Lincoln Log's work shop, however, painting and some light construction was done in the gallery. The HA students recognize that painting and construction in the gallery poses a threat to artifacts. Unfortunately lack of space dictated where work was done.
