The Department of Geology/ Geography invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Geography with primary expertise in Biogeography, emphasizing Agricultural Geography and Natural Resource Conservation, to begin August 2009. A strong background in Geographic Information Sciences and a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service are required. Ph.D. required by time of appointment. Sedimentologist/Stratigrapher Position
The Department of Geology/Geography at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor with primary expertise in sedimentology and stratigraphy to begin August 2009. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment and a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service are required. The successful candidate will be expected to teach general-education courses in introductory earth science and major courses in sedimentology and stratigraphy, as well as develop an upper level course in the candidate's specialty such as basin analysis, sequence stratigraphy, or energy resources (e.g. , related to petroleum, coal, natural gas, uranium). Science Education Coordinator
The College of Sciences at Eastern Illinois University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Science Education for Fall Semester 2009. The faculty member in this position will serve as coordinator of the Science with Teacher Certification Program with specializations in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics. The faculty appointment will be in one of the natural science departments.
