Completing
the FAFSA
To apply for both Federal and State aid, students must complete the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is important
to carefully read the application before completing it. The federal government
and Eastern Illinois University strongly encourage you to file the FAFSA
or renewal FAFSA electronically because it is the fastest and easiest
way to complete the FAFSA. The on-line FAFSA edits your data as it is
entered, which prevents invalid responses from being submitted and it
provides immediate feedback.
Before completing the FAFSA, you and your parent(s) will need to request
a Personal Identification
Number (PIN) which will be used as your electronic signature. You
will also need the following information:
- Information from the 2003 parent(s)/guardian U.S. Tax Return for
dependent students.
- Information from the 2003 U.S. Student Tax Return.
- Eastern Illinois University (001674)listed as the institution that
the student plans to attend.
Title
IV Code
A Title IV code must be placed on the FAFSA in order for the Office
of Financial Aid to receive the information contained on your application.
The Eastern Illinois University Title IV Code, 001674.
Applying
for State Aid
By listing a college or university in the State of Illinois, any resident
of Illinois will have state aid eligibility computed, and the information
from the processed FAFSA will be electronically transmitted to the school
listed (Eastern Illinois University).

Early Estimator Program
The following is an early estimator program that will estimate the amount
of financial aid you may receive. This is simply a way for you to judge
what types of federal and state aid you may qualify for. The results obtained
through this early estimator program are in no way a representation of
the aid you will receive as a student at Eastern Illinois University.
