Thanks and Congratulations

Thanks to all who participated in the 2008 Chemistry Contest. The competition among the 63 students from 10 schools was as keen as ever. Seven students scored 40 or more points (out of 50) on the test and one student had a near perfect score--one incorrect--which is a new individual record for the Contest. Wow!

Congratulations to the team from Neoga HS and their coach Leanne Evans for winning the team portion of the Contest with a combined team average of 38.42. Mahomet-Seymour placed a close second with team average of 36.40

A hearty congratulations to Liz Allen from Neoga for placing first in the individual portion of the Contest and setting the new record high with a score fo 48.75!!!

Mark your calander

The 34th annual contest is tenatively scheduled for Wednesday May 13th, 2009 at 5 pm in Phipps Lecture Hall in the Physical Sciences Building on the EIU campus.  A contest announcement/invitation will be mailed to chemistry teachers at regional high schools during the last week of March.  If you want to participate, please complete and return the application form.  Alternatively, you may submit this information by email.
