Teach graduate & undergraduate reading and/or early childhood language arts courses, integrate technology and multicultural education throughout the courses taught, supervise practicum students, teach in satellite campus programs, assist with academic advising, engage in research/creative activities, and provide leadership and service on committees and in the community.
A doctorate or ABD is required: Emphasis in Reading, Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Level Education, or Curriculum and Instruction. A minimum of 3 years of teaching children in a school setting is required. Expertise is needed in diagnostic reading and/or early literacy, as well as the ability to integrate reading and writing throughout the curriculum. Preferred qualifications include early childhood specialization, teaching at the college/university level and supervision of pre-service field experiences.
