The Department of Educational Administration at Eastern Illinois University is committed to preparing educational administrators who are proactive practitioners for the 21st Century.  The goal of the Department of Educational Administration is to prepare administrators who exhibit the leadership necessary to develop and implement quality educational programs that best meet the needs of students in an ever-changing society.  These administrators are committed to the partnerships between schools and the local community to work together for the benefit of children.

To achieve this goal, the department has adopted a proactive stance with an emphasis on communication, facilitation, and interaction.  We will utilize the state-of-the-art technologies available to us in order to facilitate this thrust.  Our mission is to provide programmatic and professional growth opportunities for our students, both on-campus and at sites where our presence is requested. 

Currently, off-campus cohort programs are being offered in Champaign (Parkland), Danville, Decatur, Mt.Vernon, Olney, Carmi and Vandalia. Students are admitted to the cohorts with permission of the Department and the Regional Office of Education. In addition, our vision includes the promotion of educational forums at which faculty and students can meet with other educators, practicing administrators, community agency representatives and other professionals to continue their educational growth and professional development.
