Wendy Williamson
Director of Study Abroad

Wendy, Director

Wendy holds a M.A. in Administration of College Student Affairs and a B.A. in Communication and Culture. She completed two assignments with the Peace Corps in Ecuador and Cameroon from 1994 to 1998, worked as a Coordinator of Study Abroad for four years at Western Michigan University, and wrote a book entitled: Study Abroad 101. Wendy has traveled extensively.

Wendy manages all operations of the Office of Study Abroad.

Farhan recently graduated this past May from Clemson University in South Carolina with a Masters degree in Counselor Education: Student Affairs.  He also has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson.  During his graduate studies, he worked in the Study Abroad office as a graduate assistant.  In addition to his graduate assistantship, he has worked in Student Judicial Affairs, Orientation, and the Academic Success Center.  Farhan has lived in Bahrain, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. 

Farhan coordinates the daily operations in the Office of Study Abroad.

 

Michelle Lashley
Graduate Assistant

Lashley, Michelle

Michelle is working toward her Master’s Degree in 20th Century European History. She is a native of Wisconsin, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in History—with minors in English Literature and French—in 2005 from Carroll College.  In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, non-academic reading, and photography. She studied abroad during the summer 2007 at Harlaxton College, Grantham, England and Queen Mary College London, England. Michelle has also done a great deal of independent traveling within Western Europe. After finishing graduate school, Michelle plans to still be undecided about her future.

Michelle assists the Director and Coordinator with a variety of projects.

 

Michala Ervin

Michala is a junior Business Education major with a minor in Spanish. In her free time she enjoys reading and traveling. She loves to go anywhere that is warm and has a beach! She goes to Mexico every summer on a mission trip with her church. She also studied abroad in Costa Rica in the spring of 2007. She has since gone back to visit friends and her host family. Michala will be graduating in the spring of 2009 after completing her student teaching. She hopes to get a job in the area to stay close to her family!

Michala conducts presentations and helps students find programs that fit their wants/needs.

 

Laila Olsson

Laila is a Middle Level Education major with a concentration in mathematics. She was born in Sweden and studied abroad at Växjö Universitet in Växjö, Sweden during the Spring of 2007. In her spare time she enjoys attending concerts, traveling, and volunteering with children. After graduating EIU she hopes to obtain her master's degree in Sweden or to teach somewhere in the United States.

Laila conducts presentations and helps students find programs that fit their wants/needs.

 

Phil Sasser

Phil is a senior, majoring in Communications with a concentration on Media Production and Media and Culture Studies. He studied at the University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa in the fall of 2005. While in South Africa, Phil also traveled to Namibia for spring break. After graduating in May, 2008, Phil will pursue a career where he can combine his video production skills with his love of traveling and experiencing different cultures/adventures. Phil enjoys any outdoor activities including hiking, climbing, scuba diving, camping, etc.

Phil conducts presentations and helps students find programs that fit their wants/needs.

 

Stacey Eyman
Data Technician

Stacey is a sophomore majoring in Biological Sciences. She plans to study for a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy after attending Eastern. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer and basketball. She loves going to the movies and hanging out with friends. She has not traveled outside of the United States, but after working in the Office of Study Abroad, her plans may be to travel the world!

Stacey assists with general office work and data entry tasks.
