to the College of Sciences, known for excellence in teaching and research.
Through the College and Department web sites you will see that the classrooms,
laboratories, field sites, and clinics are exciting places to e to value
traditional course delivery, faculty are increasingly integrating technology
into teaching and communicating electronically with students in a number
of different formats ranging from posting lecture outlines and notes to
chat rooms. A limited number of web-based courses are available but this
number is destined to increase in the near future.
Faculty and students in the College are actively
engaged in research projects. Frequently students travel with faculty
mentors to present at state, regional, national, and occasionally, international
meetings. Last spring, approximately 20 students traveled to Springfield
to display poster sessions of their research for legislators. Sciencefest,
the annual COS research showcase, features research presentations by undergraduate
and graduate students.
The faculty, administrators, and staff of COS are
committed to advancing this fine record of excellence in teaching and
