The Illinois Municipal Treasurers Association was established to promote the general and professional interest of the municipal treasurers in their respective communities, to obtain a higher standard of efficiency, to improve service with allied institutions and to inspire friendly and fraternal relationships amongst its members. These goals are accomplished by providing:
a certification program
continuing education through seminars and conferences which are designed to assist the Municipal Treasurers with a means to keep abreast of changes affecting their role in municipal government
Treasurers Institute is designed to fulfill the educational requirements necessary for professional designation of certification at the state and national level
Quarterly publication of the IMTA's newsletter Prime Times
